Slip on flange is most common type of flanges and good for lower pressure applications. It is a simple and excellent alternative to a weld neck as it does not have a weld bevel. The advantage of slip on flange including saves space during use and has lower weight. The outstanding one is it has great sealing performance which ensures no leakage on the head part.
This standard covers pressure temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing and methods of designating openings for pipe flanges and flange fittings. Such as weld neck flange, slip on flange, socket weld flange, threaded flange, blind flange, lap joint flange and flangolet.

Slip on flange can be made by forging, steel cutting, casting and etc. Among these manufacturing types, the forging type gains the best quality and also the most common use, price is higher than other types. So before purchase the slip on flange, you have to know what is the specific working environment.
Leak prevention
Installation costs are lower
Less time is spent on accurately cutting the pipe
Interior and outer welding of flange
