ASTM A182 forged flanges are a flange product that complies with the ASTM A182 standard established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
What is ASTM A182 Standard
ASTM A182 standard applies to forged low alloy steel and stainless steel pipe parts for use in pressure systems. These include flanges, fittings, valves and similar parts that meet specified size or size standards. And it includes several grades of low carbon alloy steel and ferritic, martensitic, austenitic and ferritic-austenitic stainless steels.
ASTM A182 is an international standard for forged stainless steel flanges and fittings. This standard was developed to ensure reliability in systems operating under high temperature and pressure.
Temperature ranges are also an important factor. Parts manufactured in accordance with ASTM A182 can generally function between -425°F and 1200°F.
Material Grade of ASTM A182 Forged Flange
ASTM A182 standard for forged flange materials includes two types of materials: alloy steel and stainless steel.
Alloy Steel Forged Flange
Common alloy flange materials include: ASTM A182 F5, F9, F91, F92, F11, F12, F21, F22 etc.
Alloy steel flanges are made for different steel alloys material. The flanges has various dimensions and pressures. There are 1/2 inches through 60 inches of nominal diameter sizes of flanges.

Stainless steel flanges are important components preferred in many industries. The biggest advantage of these flanges is their high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its stainless steel material, it exhibits long-lasting performance in humid and aggressive environments.
Alloy Steel VS Stainless Steel Flanges
Corrosion resistance: Stainless steel flanges have added more nickel and chromium elements to improve their corrosion resistance;
Mechanical Properties: Alloy flanges have high strength and toughness, and can withstand large working pressures and mechanical stresses.
Weldability: Alloy flanges have good weldability and can be easily connected by welding.
Cost and maintenance: Stainless steel flanges are more cost-effective than alloy flanges due to their corrosion resistance and durability, making them suitable for long-term use.
