The steel flange made of A105 material is referred to as an ASTM A105 flange. ASTM A105 weld neck flange is designed to withstand high temperatures. Carbon Steel A105 are manufactur from mild steel materials that can contain manganese, phosphorus, or sulfur. ASTM A105 carbon steel flanges are characteriz by their high toughness and wear resistance. They are commonly used in oil and gas transmission pipelines. These flanges are available in a range of grades and sizes.
Weld neck flanges, available in all pressure ratings and sizes, are butt weld to the end of the pipe, and are usually specified when service conditions are severe and excellent workmanship necessary.
Usually, ASME B16.5 weld neck flange is classified into 7 classes. They are Class 150, Class 300, Class 400, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500 and Class 2500.

There are regular weld neck flanges and long weld neck flanges. The regular type use with pipes. The long type use in process plant.
Both of them provide reinforcement in high pressure and extreme temperature changes applications. It also helps in low cycle fatigue caused by line expansion of other variable forces.
