On February 11, 2025, an old customer of our company sent us an inquiry for ASTM A182 F304L slip on flange. After the quotation was completed, the customer placed an order with us on the same day. Stainless steel flanges are our main products and our products are of high quality.
ZIZI is a company specializing in the production and processing of pipes and fittings. The pipes and pipe fittings we produce are mainly used in chemical, petroleum, natural gas, water conservancy, electric power, marine engineering and other fields. The products mainly include seamless pipes, welded pipes, butt-welded pipe fittings, high-pressure forged pipe fittings and flanges of various sizes. The materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low-temperature steel, duplex steel, base alloy, etc.
Manufacturers fabricate the ASTM A182 F304L Slip On Flange in compliance with the ASTM A182 standard, utilizing F304L stainless steel. Here’s a breakdown of what that means:
ASTM A182: The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) publishes this standard specification for forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, forged fittings, and valves and parts intended for high-temperature service.
F304L: This designation refers to a specific grade of stainless steel. The “F” indicates that the material is in the forged condition. “304L” is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel alloy. The lower carbon content (compared to standard 304) improves weldability and reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, which can lead to intergranular corrosion.

Cost-Effective: Generally, slip-on flanges are more affordable than other flange types like weld neck flanges due to their simpler design and less machining required.
Easier to Install and Align: The slip-on design makes installation and alignment with the pipe easier compared to weld neck flanges, which require precise butt welding and alignment. The installer slides the flange over the pipe and positions it correctly before welding.
Lower Welding Costs: Installation requires less welding than weld neck flanges (two fillet welds vs. a full penetration butt weld), potentially reducing welding time and costs.
Suitable for Low to Medium Pressure Applications:Engineers often choose slip-on flanges for systems with lower pressure and temperature requirements.
Good Corrosion Resistance: The 304L stainless steel material offers excellent resistance to various corrosive environments, including acids, alkalis, and chloride solutions. The lower carbon content in 304L enhances its resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially after welding.
Good Weldability: The low carbon content of 304L also improves its weldability, reducing the risk of carbide precipitation during welding.
