EN 1092-1 Weld Neck Flange Specification

How to inspect EN1092-1 Type 11 Weld Neck Flange

Inspecting an EN 1092-1 Type 11 Weld Neck Flange is a crucial step to ensure its integrity, quality, and compliance with required standards before it is installed in a piping system.

Visual Inspection

External and Internal Surface: Check both the external and internal surfaces of the flange for visible cracks, pits, dents, or any other damage. Surface defects can affect the sealing and structural integrity.

Dimensional Inspection

Outside diameter (OD): The overall outer diameter of the flange should match the specified size.

Bolt circle diameter (BCD): Measure the distance between the centers of bolt holes to ensure it matches the design specification.

Flange thickness: Measure the thickness of the flange at different points (such as near the bolt holes and at the raised face) to ensure it complies with the required dimensions.
