ASTM A182 weld neck Flange is made up of different stainless steel materials. In particular, there are different grades to the stainless steel depending on the material composition and the mechanical properties vary.
The ASTM A182 Weld Neck Flange are made up of a super austenitic material that has good corrosion resistant properties with low carbon in its composition. Furthermore, The applications include utility scrubber assemblies. The flanges are also used in acid production and fertilizer production plants due to its corrosion resistance.

For ASTM A182 weld neck flange, different grades have different yield strength values. Generally speaking, the yield strength of A182 is between 205 – 450MPa (depending on the different heat treatment states). This means that when the stress on the material reaches this value, the material will begin to undergo irreversible plastic deformation.
A182 weld neck flange is a widely used pipe connector, produced based on ASTM A182 standard, and connected to the pipe by butt welding process.
